You can learn about sports, crafts, science, trades, business, and future careers as you earn merit badges. There are more than 135 merit badges, and any Scout, or any qualified Venturer or Sea Scout may earn any of these at any time.
Start with something fun or a hobby that you already enjoy. Look at the Eagle Merit Badges and the time frame for all of them...some take a meeting or 2, some take months to complete.
Use ScoutBook to find a local merit badge counselor or ask a committee member about merit badge counselors in our troop.
(always copy a parent when you send a message to an adult.) Say you’re with Troop 21 and would like to earn that badge.
Click on “start another merit badge” (just below the Eagle Palms) and choose the merit badge you want to work on. Connect with your Merit Badge Counselor on Scoutbook so they can track your progress online.
Agree on how you’re going to complete the requirements and how you’re going to show you’ve completed them.

Pretty much every single thing you need to know to complete that badge is in the booklet! **Check out our troop library to see if we have one you can borrow, or ask a fellow scout if they have completed this badge.
Ask your Merit Badge Counselor for help if you need it.
After your counselor record and approves it, you should see a blue checkbox in ScoutBook or a physical blue card. If you have the physical card, present it to our advancement chair. You did it!
Sew the patch on the front of your sash. Keep the blue card! Store it in a plastic sheet made for storing baseball cards. That’ll become part of your Eagle Scout application.
